TOY RUN ON THE R62 at the Karoo

With over 50
000 motorcycles participating nationally, Toy Run™ South Africa is the largest
combined service club event in Africa, and the largest motorcycle charity event
in the world! Karoo Saloon offers toy run accommodation.
On 21 November 2009, the Karoo Saloon will be hosting their first Toy Run™ on
the R62, a fully endorsed ‘franchise’ of the Toy Run™, which has been running
for 27 years in South Africa. Everyone is welcome (not just bikers!) Bikers are
invited to ride (from wherever!) to the Karoo Saloon, to arrive at any time from
12h00 onwards.
The objectives of the toy run event are:
- To
collect and distribute toys and gifts to less privileged children up to 18
years over the Christmas period
- To
improve and enhance the image of motorcyclists in their communities
The very
first Toy Run™ on the R62 will be a fun-filled day with a big heart! All
visitors are requested to bring a toy for an underprivileged child (please, no
fluffy toys!) Books, educational toys and toys that do not promote violence are
ideal! We are hoping to have the SAB Gig Rig on the day to provide the music
(watch this space!) and the usual Karoo Saloon drinks and food will be
available. There will also be specially printed T-shirts and caps available for
purchase on the day.
Join us
for a day of fun, music and the excitement of the biggest event of its kind on
the planet – and bring some joy into the lives of many of our local children.

NB!!! ONLY
LICENSED RIDERS ON LICENSED VEHICLES are allowed on the run. Please please
please do NOT let your children ride on their tiny bikes on the run, as it is on
public roads and all normal road rules apply.. and WILL be enforced by Traffic.
Please support the run by obeying the rules and making it fun and for everyone
by not doing anything DANGEROUS.
